Automatic Passenger Counter AVC1
Accurate counting data of passengers or other customers is a key factor in many sectors for efficient resource allocation. This includes public transportation systems (trains, busses), retail and facility management with any types of entrances and floors (e.g. shopping areas and lobbies).
For operators of public transport systems counting data is basis for dynamic adjustments of transportation capacity and sharing revenues between different business divisions. Retail and facility managers again are interested in customer numbers for security reasons, surveillance of behavioral patterns and flexible planning of personnel.
Up to now the current counting systems have lead to inaccurate and therefore costly solutions – if they were, at all possible to implement.
Based on 3D- Sense Technology Hella Aglaia’s self contained Automatic Passenger Counting System AVC 1 offers a counting accuracy greater than 98%. It is possible to verify all results at any time, through the comparison with video recordings.
The AVC1 can be used in any environment which offers an installation height of 2 to 4m and a minimum distance to passengers of 10cm. An adjustable counting threshold allows through measurement of heights the distinction to be made between children and adults.
With its flexible mounting system and its wide range of different interfaces (Ethernet, CAN, RS485 or RS323) and power supplies (9-36V DC, 110V DC or 90V AC – 264V AC) the AVC1 can be easily customized to nearly any possible application.
The AVC1 is configured via the AVC1 Configuration Center Software via a connection to the onboard network via LAN or WLAN. In the configuration mode it is possible to visualize current counting results of all doors of the vehicle in a graphical user interface and to manage self test routines or updates.
Designed as an intelligent and self contained system, the AVC1 constantly calibrates itself during operation to compensate for temperature changes and aging effects over lifetime. This guarantees a high reliability and a minimum of maintenance effort.
